This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing and using the Overlay Mobile App, navigating the Overlay Portal Website, and setting up and managing Zapier integrations with your Overlay account.
How to install and start using the Overlay Mobile App
On your mobile device, download Overlay on iOS or Android
Once it has installed, open the app.
Tap 'Sign in with Email' and login using the provided credentials
Read the Onboarding screens, then swipe left or tap 'Skip' until a 'Get Started' button appears. Tap it.
You can now use the Overlay app, allowing you train and detect your own objects and complete flows created by your organisation.
How to use the Overlay Portal Website
Go to overlayportal.io and fill out the email and password fields using the provided credentials, then click sign in.
On the sidebar on the left side of your screen, click 'Libraries'. Here, you can select from your existing libraries or create a new one.
Click 'Test Library #1', then once it has loaded, zoom in (press the control key and the + key at once a few times)
How to use the Flows feature using the Overlay Mobile App
Open the Overlay Mobile app on your device. If you are not signed in, see "How to install and start using the Overlay Mobile App"
On the bottom of your screen, tap 'Flows'.
Choose a flow from this screen.
Tap 'Launch Flow'
Follow the on screen prompts - such as successfully detecting a list of objects.
Complete all steps until the flow is complete.
If you have already setup the Overlay Integration in Zapier, for example with Excel, you should see updates to your spreadsheet containing information about the actions just taken.
Enabling Zapier Support in your Overlay Organisation
Sign into the Overlay Portal Website
On the sidebar on the left side of your screen, click 'Integrations'.
Find the panel with 'Zapier' on it and click the 'Connect' button. This will open another panel, where you can then click the 'Connect' button on the bottom right of the pop up.
This will now enable Zapier access in your Overlay Organisation.
Connecting your Overlay Organisation to Zapier
In your web browser, go to zapier.com and sign in to your Zapier account.
On the sidebar on the left side of your screen, click 'Apps', then on the Apps page click 'Other apps'
Click 'Add connection' and then search for, then click 'Overlay AI'
This will open a pop up window for you to sign into Overlay using your Overlay credentials. If you recieve the 'Resource not found' error, enable Zapier support by following the instructions at 'Enabling Zapier Support in your Overlay Organisation'.
If successful, the window will close and can now add Zaps. Note that you can add multiple Overlay organisations to a single Zapier account.
Adding a Zap to Your Overlay AI Zapier App
In Zapier, go to Zaps and click Add and then New Zap. This will open a page to create a new Zap.
Click 'Trigger', then search for 'Overlay AI' and select it.
Select your desired event, then click Continue.
Click 'Choose', then select the Overlay AI account you wish to use, then click Continue once the page loads.
Click 'Test trigger', which will ensure the Zap has permission to access your Overlay account.
Click continue with selected record.
This will load you into the Action selector, where you can choose what happens with your Overlay event, for example sending the data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
